Lymphoma or Lymphatic Cancer – Causes and Symptoms

World Lymphoma Awareness Day, observed annually on September 15 across the world to increase awareness on cancers of the lymphatic system, is initiated to educate the public about all lymphoma sub-types in terms of symptom detection, early diagnosis, and treatment. The Lymphoma Coalition is the organisation behind the worldwide campaign, which is held on this day to raise awareness about lymphoma, a kind of cancer that is becoming more widespread.

Lymphoma is a cancer which affects the lymphatic system, means, it is a form of cancer which is developed in the immune system's cells that resist infections. These cancers develop in lymphocytes, which are a type of white blood cell which help fight disease. These cells are crucial to the body's immunological defences and aid in the battle against illness. This form of cancer may easily spread to several tissues and organs throughout the body since it is prevalent in the lymphatic system. Most frequently the lymphoma spreads to liver, bone marrow, or lungs. People of any age group can develop lymphoma.

There are two main types of lymphoma:

a)      Hodgkin lymphoma

b)     Non-Hodgkin lymphoma

Within these, there are many other categories.

Non-Hodgkin lymphoma

Non-Hodgkin's lymphoma is a type of cancer that develops in your lymphatic system, which is a component of the body's immune system that fights infection. White blood cells called lymphocytes can develop tumours (growths) throughout the body.

Non-Hodgkin lymphoma category includes a wide variety of subtypes. Among the most prevalent subtypes are follicular lymphoma and diffuse large B-cell lymphoma.

Non-Hodgkin lymphoma makes up 4.2% of all cancers in the United States, according to the    National Cancer Institute (NCI), and the lifetime risk of developing it is 2.2%.

Hodgkin lymphoma

Doctors can recognize Hodgkin lymphoma, an immune system malignancy, by the presence of Reed-Sternberg cells, which are disproportionately large B lymphocytes. When a person has Hodgkin lymphoma, the disease frequently spreads to nearby lymph nodes.

Symptoms

Lymphoma has symptoms that are identical to some viral illnesses, such the common cold. They often go on for a longer duration, though. Occasionally, people won't have any symptoms. Others could see swollen lymph nodes. Swelling often develops in neck, groin, belly, or armpits.

The swellings frequently have little discomfort. If the swollen glands press against bones, organs, or other tissues, they could become uncomfortable. Back pain and lymphoma can sometimes be confused.

During common infections like the common cold, lymph nodes can also enlarge. The swelling does not go away with lymphoma. If the swelling has developed as a result of an infection, pain is also more likely to accompany it.

No routine screenings are available for lymphoma. A person should contact a doctor if they continue to have viral symptoms. The physician will enquire about the patient's personal and family medical history in an effort to rule out any other illnesses. Additionally, they will perform a physical examination, looking for any potential swellings in the armpits, groin, neck, and abdomen. The doctor will search for indications of infection close to lymph nodes because this is the most common cause of swelling.

Alert: Instagram Can Track Your Passwords And Private Credit Card Information

According to a new report, the Meta-owned photo-sharing service Instagram has the ability to watch users' actions, text selections, and even text input, such passwords and private credit card information.

According to Felix Krause's investigation, Instagram and Facebook both utilise their own in-app browsers on iOS instead of the one provided by Apple for third-party apps.

Most applications load webpages via Apple's Safari, but Instagram and Facebook have been utilising their own in-app browser, according to MacRumors.

Instagram and Facebook insert a tracking JavaScript code known as "Meta Pixel" into all of the links and webpages seen with their specially developed browser, which is still based on WebKit.

Krause discovered that Meta had complete flexibility with that code to track users' interactions without getting their permission. According to the study, this enables Instagram to keep tabs on everything that occurs on other websites without the user's or the website provider's approval.

In order to track all user interactions, such as button and link clicks, text selections, screenshots, and any form inputs, such as passwords, addresses, and credit card numbers, the Instagram app injects tracking code into every website shown, including those that are opened when clicking on advertisements.

Krause made the point that, in contrast to using Apple's built-in Safari, it requires a considerable amount of work for businesses like Meta to create and maintain their own in-app browser.

Meta claims on its developer portal that , "Meta Pixel" is designed to "track visitor activity on your website" by monitoring all events a user does within their custom-built browser. There is no evidence that Meta, which owns Instagram, has gathered the user data it is capable of collecting.

Human Resources Management System: Managing HR With Information Technology

Human Resources Management System (HRMS) is a term that refers to a system that manages human resource activities. In a modern world HR work is more sophisticated and involves a lot of complex activities. There's a lot of work involved in employee data management, which involves anything from recruitment and hiring to training and assessments, along with other things. Human Resource Management theories focus on methods of recruitment and selection and highlight the advantages of interviews, general assessment and psychometric testing as employee selection processes.

Because of the importance and manpower involved in these duties, HR professionals must use HR management software in order to handle human resource data more efficiently and effectively. This is where an HRMS may assist an organization. HRMS stands for Human Resource Management System, and it is a collection of software that companies use to handle their internal HR activities. HRMS software aids in the management of modern workforce.

Many organizations now deploy a human resource management system (HRMS), which is a set of systems and procedures that link human resource management with information technology via HR software.  A human resources management system (HRMS) can be used for candidate recruitment, payroll management, leave approval, succession planning, attendance monitoring, career development, performance evaluations, and the general management of personnel information inside an organization. A human resource management system (HRMS) may assist major corporations and small businesses in increasing their growth and production. The automation of human resources management's tedious and time-consuming activities frees up some of the company's most valued people, allowing the focus to move to culture, retention, and other high-impact areas.

Employee histories, skills, abilities, pay checks, and performances are all tracked by the human resources department. By replacing specific procedures with multiple tiers of HRMS systems, information management duties may be distributed so that the majority of data collection is not allocated only to HR. Information is maintained more accurate by allowing workers to update personal information and conduct other duties, and thereby HR personnel are not burdened with all these task.

Major Modules of Human Resource Management System

The major components of an HRMS are Applicant Tracing System (ATS), Employee Information System, Employee On boarding/Off-boarding, Time management and Payroll Management.

1)            Application Tracking System

Major organization hire candidates for many positions at once and receive hundreds of applicants for each position. Most of these candidates may be unskilled or not fit for the job. Going through all these applications will be a time consuming task. This is where Application Tracking System (ATS) does its part.

All of these resumes are kept in one place by applicant tracking systems, which makes it easier for recruiters and hiring managers to stay organised. In principle, these technologies save time by discovering and identifying the best candidates automatically. In actuality, application tracking systems (ATS) assist recruiting managers in narrowing their applicant pool.

2         Employee On-boarding

According to a recent Gallup poll, only 12% of new recruits believe their company has a proper on-boarding procedure. The on-boarding process usually lasts a day or two, leaving them confused and disappointed. Due to increased employee turnover, a poor on-boarding process might have financial ramifications for the organization. Candidates who are dissatisfied with their on-boarding experience are more likely to leave the organization within a year.

Human Resource Management System helps an organization in monitoring on-boarding processes by automating all the process needed for on-boarding an employee.  Distributing checklists to new recruits and internal teams, providing welcome packages, and obtaining applicants' e-signature are some of the on-boarding duties that your HRMS may assist you with automating.

3)      Employee Information System

Manually managing administrative activities may be exhausting and time-consuming. Using spreadsheets to manage employee timesheets is particularly cumbersome. Manual activities frequently result in repeated mistakes, resulting in compliance difficulties. Manually keeping all employee data becomes impractical as businesses develop since it is difficult to modify. Also the employee data is often vulnerable to theft. Any time spent on these manual processes depletes resources for hiring, reducing staff turnover, enhancing employee engagement, succession planning, and other important duties.

Employee Information System helps in reducing this work load. All the employee documents of an organization can be recorded and maintained in one place using an Employee Information System. Allowing your employees to personally complete their profiles will help you to get the accurate information.

4)      Time Management System

Time Management System gives an authenticated access to the employees, which allows to track IN and OUT timings of the employees.  Daily check-in and check-out times will be recorded and saved in the time management system. It assists businesses in managing employee timeliness and keeping remote staff on schedule. With an effective time management system, the tedious inconvenience of handling employee leaves and holidays may also be automated.

5)      Payroll Management

Payroll is a list of the company's employees who are paid. Payroll, in simple terms, is the process of paying employees' salaries and part-time workers' wages based on their work hours and agreed-upon remuneration.

In practice, this procedure is not so simple. Other calculations and data, such as leaves taken, remaining leaves, loss of pay, loan, compensations, appraisal, withholdings etc. are to be calculated before the final pay, which is to be paid to employees. The payroll process requires communication with a number of departments and individuals.

Automating the payroll management helps to reduce a lot of time and effort. Payroll management automation facilitates payroll processing for the entire workforce in a couple of minutes.

Selecting and deploying the right human resource management system for your business may have a significant impact on future development and success. While it is possible to do HR activities manually, from the above discussion we have seen that an automated system can assist to increase productivity and transform the way your organization is seen in modern world. It's crucial to keep in mind that these systems aren't "one size fits all". Each organization is unique by nature. So there are different systems available in market which suits the requirements for each organization.

UI/UX Design: A Brief Description

With the advancement of technology, a growing number of individuals are getting interested in the field of designing. They may have come across the terms UI/UX designs. It's crucial for newcomers to understand the distinction between UI and UX design. While UI and UX design are sometimes grouped together, they are essentially different, and beginners should be aware of the distinction.

UI stands for User Interface and UX stands for User Experience. These are two mutually dependent terms. UI is focused on how people interact with computer systems, software, and apps. UX is more focused on how a user feels about a brand, product, or service in general.

User Interface Design or UI Design

The quality of the end-users engagement with the product is referred to as user interface or UI . In simple terms, a user interface is a location where humans and machines interact. It enables users to use a machine efficiently in order to complete a task or attain a specified objective.

UI designers produce the graphical aspects of mobile applications, websites, and gadgets that users interact with directly. It has an impact on what the end-user sees, hears, and experiences.

The function of user interface designers is mainly focused on the visual display of information. To build interfaces that have a nice appearance and feel, UI designers need have graphic design, visual design, and branding design abilities.

User Experience Design or UX Design

In simple terms, UX design is the process of designing products with the user in mind. UX designers are in charge of understanding the demands of the target audience and ensuring that the company's products fit those needs.

Conducting user research is the first step in UX design. UX designers must know who their target audience is and what they require from the product they're designing. UX designers concentrate their efforts on the user's interaction with a product. The objective is to create products that are useful and easy to use for the end-user. For market research and connecting with clients to understand their needs, UX has a greater social component.

UI/UX Career Opportunities

Many businesses have recently learned that good design may provide them a competitive edge, and they are ready to invest large resources in producing a positive user experience. As a result, the position of UX designer has emerged, and it is in great demand.

Because the concepts of UX and UI are so similar, many companies promote UI and UX design as a single function. The job description for this role normally states that the worker will work on both the conceptual and practical aspects of user interactions. In reaplity, this appears to be a single individual wearing two hats at the same time. Each function need a unique set of skills and procedures. Even if a single individual possesses all of the essential talents, the mix of disciplines is unfavorable to the design process since it makes it less focused. When a person shifts back and forth between the conceptual and execution phases, he/she risks missing a key aspect of the design.

Regardless of how they are defined, both UI and UX are critical components of product creation and delivery. Customer experience, according to research, is a key driver of revenue growth. The user experience and user interface (UX and UI) are an investment in the product or service.
