Akasa Air: The Low Cost Indian Airline

 


Akasa airlines has hit the headlines when it placed a order with Boeing. As per the reports, Akasa airlines placed a massive order of 72 Boeing 737 Max at the Dubai air show.

Akasa airlines is an upcoming ultra-low-cost Indian airline co-founded by Rakesh Jhunjhunwala, the billionare investor and former Jet Airways CEO Vinay Dube. It is planning to launch flights in the summer of 2022 with an endeavour to be the nation’s most dependable, affordable and greenest airline. Besides discussions with Boeing for planes, Akasa Air is also in talks with Airbus for potential orders from the Airbus A320 fleet. 


As per the statement by Boeing, Akasa Air has ordered two models from the 737 MAX family, the 737-8 and the high-capacity 737-8-200. 

Akasa airlines will begin flight operations in the next six months. The airline plans to operate approximately 70 planes in the next four years.
